Frigate Santa Mónica was launched in Cartagena in 1777. Taken as a prize after a fierce fight by the HMS Pearl. Mutiny on the Santa Monica – 16 July 1781, grounded off Tortola on 1 April 1782 and rapidly broke up, though the crew were saved.
