English: Gustav was a four-mast steel barque built with her originally name Austrasia in 1892 by Russell & Co., Port Glasgow (yard No 291), for J. & W. Goffey, Liverpool. 1910 sold to Aug. Bolten, Wm. Miller's Nachf., Hamburg, and renamed Gustav. 1913 sold to Vinnen Gebr., Hamburg and 1914 interned at Mejillones. 1927 sold to H.W.F.M. Engel, Altona and was renamed Melbourne. 1928 sold to Gustav Erikson, Mariehamn. 1932 June 30 run over by MT Seminole 30 nm South Fastnet and was sunk. The master and 10 of the crew was drowned while 15 were saved.
Her dimensions were = length × beam × depth: 305.1 × 44 × 24.6 ft (92.9 × 13.4 × 7.4 m) and she had a tonnage of 2718 GRT and 2586 NRT.[1][2]
