English: In the early 20th century, the Great Northern Railway Ocean Dock—a pier with a warehouse and grain elevators—stood in Seattle's Smith Cove. Configurations varied, especially because of several fires over the years, but at one time the dock was as long as 2700 feet (823 meters).
