English: Glaser Building/New Latona Hotel, 2419 1st Avenue, Seattle, Washington, U.S., now (2017) Ace Hotel & Cyclops restaurant/bar. Designed by Theobald Buchinger for Mrs. Christena Schaefer, it was built in the latter half of 1910 by contractor John Kauffman. It was soon purchased and renamed by Seattle businessman and philanthropist Paul F. Glaser (1878-1973), founder of Glaser Beverages in 1927, the Glaser Foundation in 1952 and namesake of the clinic at Swedish Hospital. At the time of this building's construction, he was the secretary and manager of the Hemrich Brothers brewery in South Lake Union and would see them through prohibition with the development of several non-alcoholic beers. Originally known as the Latona Hotel, in the then common practice of hotel names following their managers to new buildings, It became the New Latona Hotel in the mid-1930s, sometime after an interim Latona Hotel at 1924 1st Ave became the New Rector Hotel.
