Porte du Tricot

Deutsch: Die Stadtmauer von Grignan wurden im 13. Jahrhundert erbaut. Der kreisförmige Schutzwall hatte ein Dutzend Wehrtürme und sechs Eingänge (portes): porte du Tricot (Tor der Strickmacher), porte St Jean, porte de Costefroide, porte de la Glacière (Tor des Eiskellers), porte de la Grande und Tour de porte Costechaude. Der große, quadratische Turm (Tour Carrée) wurde bei der Porte du Tricot als Alarm/Signal-Turm gebaut. Die Kuppel erhielt der Turm später, zusammen mit der ersten Uhr des Dorfes.
English: Gate of the Tricot is the only gate that remains of the fortifications from the Middle Ages. Topped by a tower in the 16th century it became Belfry Tower, then Tower Clock. Strengthened and consolidated at the 17th and 19th centuries.
Español: Puerta del Tricot es la única puerta que queda de las fortificaciones de la Edad Media. Coronada por una torre en el siglo 16 se convirtió en Atalaya, y después Campanario del reloj. Fortalecido y consolidado en los siglos 17 y 19.
Français : La Porte du Tricot est la seule porte qui reste des fortifications du Moyen-Âge. Surmontée d'une tour au 16° siècle elle devient Beffroi puis Tour de l' Horloge. Renforcé et consolidée au 17 et au 19° siècles.
