English: Founders' Day in Seattle, Washington, U.S., was originally celebrated with a ball on November 13, 1911, the 60th anniversary of the Denny Party landing at Alki Beach. Originally hosted by Morgan Carkeek in his own home, it became an annual event, closely associated with the Seattle Historical Society once that was founded in 1914; over the years it evolved into a more public event.
