English: The formation of Malaysia, a decolonization concept of five territories of the British Empire of Brunei, Malaya, Singapore, North Borneo and Sarawak, had its beginnings on 27 May 1961. It was announced by Tunku Abdul Rahman to a group of foreign correspondents at the Adelphi Hotel in Singapore to enlarge his voiced out of the idea at the United Malays National Organisation conference in 1955. It was supported, especially by Singapore.
