English: The Forest of Birse is a remote upland area in the upper catchment of the Water of Feugh, which forms the south-western portion of the Parish of Birse, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
Historically, a 'Forest' was an uncultivated area set aside for hunting and was not necessarily wooded, and indeed Heather moorland is the principal habitat in the Forest of Birse.
