Dansk: Flensborg Fjord er en dansk/tysk sidearm til Østersøen. Den østlige ende af den dansk/tyske landegrænse er ved Skomagerhus i den vestligste ende af fjorden. Den danske side af fjorden afgrænses af Sundeved, Broagerland, den sydligste ende af Als/Sønderborg og Kegnæs.
English: Flensburg Firth, in Danish Flensborg Fjord, in German Flensburger Förde, is geologically speaking not a fjord. True fjords like the Norwegian ones were carved out by ice descending from the mountains to the sea. The bays on the eastern coast of Jutland peninsula were carved out by tongues of an ice shield on the sea that moved from the sea onto the land. In German, bays of this type are called Förde (plural: Förden). In Danish, the term fjord does not imply any specification at all. Even the lagoons on the western coast of Jutland are called fjords, such as Ringkøbing Fjord and Stadil Fjord
