Major Buddhist Festivals in Bodhgaya
- Kagyu Monlam Chenmo : This is a large prayer festival known as The Great Prayer Festival held by the Kagyu School of Tibetan Buddhism in Bodhgaya. It usually falls in late December to early January, corresponding from the 4th to the 11th day of the first month of the Tibetan calendar.
- Nyingma Monlam Chenmo : Similar to the Kagyu’s Monlam Chenmo, every year from January to February, thousands of Nyingma practitioners from different lineages all around the world would gather here in Bodhgaya to make aspirational prayers during this great prayer festival.

- Mahakala Puja
- Kalachakra : Every year the Kalachakra initiation conducted by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama attracts hundreds of thousands of pilgrims from all around the world. (1974, 1985, 2003, 2012 and 2017)
- International Tipitaka Chanting Ceremony (Tipitaka = holy buddhist scriptures)
