English: Feohanagh ( Irish: An Fheothanach) is a village in the Parish of Mahoonagh, South West County Limerick in Ireland. The village is 5 miles south east of the town of Newcastle West, County Limerick on the R522 regional road to Dromcollogher. It is the only village on the road between Newcastle West and Dromcollogher.Dan Murphy, local legend and renowned ferrett breeder lives somewhere in Feohanagh near Cooleygorman Cross.Legend has it that Dan, while on the run from the authorities in the late 60's successfully smuggled a consignment of Canadian Black Footed ferretts into the locality and began cross breeding the canadian breed with local ferrett. The results were outstanding and the much sought after Feohanagh Ferrett can reach top prices on international markets due to their speed and agility. The ferrett industry in feohanagh, while clandestine, employs a number of locals.
