North American F-100D-15-NA Super Sabre, s/n 54-2239 (c/n 223-119): During its service with the U.S. Air Force (561st Fighter-Bomber Squadron, 388th Fighter-Bomber Wing), 54-2239 was damaged on landing at Wheelus Air Base, Libya, on 13 June 1957 when the aircraft porpoised and the nosewheel collapsed. It was repaired at CASA at Getafe, Spain, in November 1957 and transferred to France under the Military Assistance Program in June 1958 and served with EC1/11 "Roussillon" (coded 11-EK, then 11-ED). It was retired in 1977 and returned to USAF at RAF Sculthorpe. It was loaned to the Loughborough and Leicestershire Air Museum at East Midlands, UK, in April 1978 and painted as "FW-239". After the museum became defunct, 54-2239 was reclaimed by the USAF. It then served as gate guard at Bitburg Air Base, Germany, until the base was closed in 1994. It is on display at the Musée des ailes anciennes, Toulouse, France, since 1995.
