Frank G Sieger and his partner, Settler (first name unknown) went into the saddle and harness business about 1878. Their first store was located on the first floor of the Odd Fellows building, located on the southeast corner of Hamilton Street at Hall. About 1880, Settler left the business and the company became F C Sieger's Harness Store. The White Horse Harness Store, as the business was also known by, moved to its own building at 712 Hamilton by 1882 and became a successful business selling various supplies to horse owners such as harnesses, blankets, whips and other items. In the late 1890s, the store expanded to the 710 building.

Shortly after 1900, Sieger gradually withdrew from the business, likely due to age, and by 1904 the property was taken over by another business. He passed in 1909 at age 79.
