L'Epiphone Casino ES-230TD,[1]
essentiellement une version plus abordable
de la Gibson ES-335, fut peut-être
la guitare électrique la plus appréciée
des Beatles, qui en firent d'ailleurs en
1966 le principal instrument de leur
dernière tournée.

McCartney, puis Lennon et Harrison ont
chacun acquis une Casino. Celle de John,
originalement d'un fini « Teaburst », fut
remise au bois naturel par le musicien
dès son retour de l'Inde, au printemps
1968. Elle devint sa guitare de travail
favorite, comme en témoignent les albums
The Beatles (l'Album blanc), Get Back/
Let It Be et Abbey Road, sans oublier
Live Peace In Toronto 1969.

Cette guitare de Lennon, qui appartient
aujourd'hui à Yoko Ono, a été reproduite
fidèlement sous le nom de Revolution
Casino et offerte en édition limitée en
1999 (406/1965), d'où cet exemplaire.

The Epiphone Casino ES-230TD,[1]
essentially a less expensive version of
the Gibson ES-335, was perhaps the Beatles'
favorite electric guitar — it was main
instrument they used during their final
tour, in 1966.

First McCartney, then Lennon and
Harrison each bought a Casino. John's
originally had a sunburst finish, but
he stripped it down when he got back
from India in spring 1968. It became
his favourite working guitar, and he used
it on The Beatles (the White Album),
Get Back/Let It Be and Abbey Road,
as well as Live Peace In Toronto 1969.

In 1999, the company released a limited
edition of an exact replica of Lennon's
guitar, today owned by Yoko Ono, calling
it the Revolution Casino. This is No. 406
of the 1965 copies made.
