English: Empress Dowager Shōken (Shōken-kōtaigō, nee Lady Haruko Ichijō, 9 May 1849 – 9 April 1914) was the empress consort of Emperor Meiji and adopted mother of Emperor Taishō. She is also known under the technically more correct name Empress Shōken (Shōken-kōgō).
