Example – left: colour marking, voltage, electric circuit name, phase assignment, right: high-voltage warning, operator/contact, construction project and pylon number
English: Electricity pylon markings – depending on country and operator, various labels/tags/signs with text/numbers, colour markings (primarily for linemen safety), and/or graphical danger/high-voltage warnings are possible.

If present, they are often installed at eye level or little higher and may contain detailed information; if really high above ground, they are generally simpler (plain numbers, visible from great distance).
Such markings may give information on:

  • pylon identification (position within construction project, often numbers)
  • power line/electric circuit identification (voltage, number or designation like "from substation A to B", often abbreviated, also simple colour markings on different pylon sides)
  • operator (may include contact opportunity in case of interruption/breakdown)
