English: Edinburgh Crossrail is passenger railway line from Edinburgh's Waverley station east to Brunstane and Newcraighall, where new stations were opened in 2002 on an existing, freight only line. The eastern terminus also included a Park & Ride car park, to connect it to the Edinburgh Park & Ride network. The route was part of the former Waverley Route south to Carlisle, which is due to re-open in 2015. It was given the name crossrail because services continue beyond Waverley to Haymarket and destinations west of Edinburgh using other existing lines.
