The Demorest Manufacturing Company was a late 19th century manufacturer of metal products in New York City, with production premises in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Demorest started with sewing machines in the 1860s ("Madame Demorest’s 5 dollar first premium running stitch sewing machine"), and clothing patterns ("Madame Demorest"), and later added typewriters, printing presses, and bicycles, among other products. The company was sold in 1907 or 1908, and reorganized as the Lycoming Foundry and Machine Company. New owners converted to automobile and aircraft engines.
