Decyl compounds are chemical compounds formally derived from decane, C10H22, by replacement of one of the three hydrogen atoms on the terminal carbon (i.e. carbon #1) with other atoms or functional groups. Decyl compounds contain the decyl group, C10H21, and have the general formula C10H21X, where X is any chemical element or group.
