The DEKS Educational Institute is a 1974 established private educational institution based in Tema (Ghana). The founder was Mrs. Eupheme Conliffe Dei (born 1932 on Barbados (Caribbean)). The institution should mark a new era of kindergarten in Ghana to that time. Today, this institution is carrying a kindergarten after the Montessori concept, a Primary School, a Junior High School and a Senior Secondary School, latter since September 2001. The letters DEKS in the name stand for:
- D = Dispipline = originally "Dei" as surname of the founder,
- E = Excellence = originally "Etta" as first name of the founder,
- K = Kindness = originally "Kodzo" as first name of the founder’s Ghanaian husband, and
- S = Service = originally only in order to can make it pleasant to pronounce.
