Français : Émile Béchard est surtout connu pour avoir présenté à l'Exposition universelle de 1878 à Paris un ensemble de vues d'Égypte qui lui valut une médaille d'or. Elles furent publiées en 1887, par le procédé photomécanique de Quinsac, en un portefeuille géant de cent cinquante planches, avec un texte d'introduction de Palmieri. La variété des thèmes abordés, la qualité des reproductions, la taille imposante de l'album en font un jalon important dans les publications sur l'Orient. Ouvrage : L'Égypte et la Nubie : grand album monumental, historique, architectural, Le Caire, É. Béchard et A. Palmieri, 1887.
English: 'Hippolyte Delié is best known as the associate of Émile Béchard in their Esbekiah studio in Cairo during the 1870's. The timing of their partnership is unclear but it is certain that both worked separately at various times. This is known because cartes-de-visite and cabinet cards exist with both single logos for each photographer as well as with a joint logo. It is probable that Delié opened a studio first. Some prints after Delié's photographs were published in Le Monde Illustré in 1869.
