Crossed-out railway signals in Germany.
This white cross with a black frame placed on or above a colour light signal, semaphore signal or other signal marks it as temporarily invalid. If a main signal and a distant signal are mounted on the same mast, only the crossed-out signal is invalid. If both signals are invalid, a cross must be placed on both.
