English: "Blue Flame" was officially only the name of a particular high compression version of Chevrolet's 1937-1963 overhead-valve inline-six engine, but is commonly used to describe the entire engine generation. It replaced the earlier "Stovebolt" six, with which it shared many designed elements. 216, 235, or 261 cubic inches (3.5, 3.9, or 4.3 litres).
