Not to be confused with his son, Charles R. Parsons (1844-1920)

Charles Parsons (1821-1910) was an American artist and lithographer. Signs mainly as C. Parsons, sometimes Charles Parsons. Born in England he emigrated age 9 or 10, 1831. Apprenticed to George Endicott, age 13 or 15, 1836. He worked for Nathaniel Currier from 1861, later Currier & Ives. He became head of the art department of Harper’s publishing firm 1863-1889. Died 9 November 1910. He has no recorded middle name. [https://www.geographicus.com/P/RareMaps/parsonscharles His son Charles R. Parsons (1844-1920) was an artist based first in Manhattan, then Brooklyn. Born in Cornwall, and died in Cornwall when on vacation. The son was christened Charles Richard Parsons. Treat all internet sources with caution.

Aside from the signed names both artists works are virtually identical.

There are references to a Charles H. Parsons but no actual signings as such are available. It maybe that this is a different artist, but if so he's not prolific.
