It is in fact the former Notre-Dame la Principale church, abandoned during the Revolution and then bought (apart from the choir) under the Restoration by one of the members of the Confraternity of White Penitents to establish their chapel. Today it is a performance hall assigned to the Avignon Festival and the Higher Institute of Show Techniques of Avignon.
This building is inscrit au titre des monuments historiques de la France. It is indexed in the base Mérimée, a database of architectural heritage maintained by the French Ministry of Culture, under the reference PA00125729 .
