English: An engine order telegraph or E.O.T., often also chadburn, is a communications device used on a ship or submarine for the pilot on the bridge to order engineers in the engine room to power the vessel at a certain desired speed.

Español: Telégrafo: Es un dispositivo instalado en el puente de mando de un buque con una réplica en sala de máquinas, por medio del cual se transmiten las ordenes de grados de marcha deseados.

Français : Le Transmetteur d'ordres appelé aussi Chadburn par association au nom du plus grand constructeur mondial ou télégraphe, est un appareil mécanique (à l'origine) qui permet de transmettre sur un navire les ordres concernant la propulsion, de la passerelle à la salle des machines.
