English: Juan Manuel de Rosas' house in Palermo, Buenos Aires, also named "Casona de San Benito". It was located on Av. del Libertador and Av. Sarmiento. He lived there from 1838 to 1852 when he had to exile in Great Britain after his army was defeated at the Caseros Battle. Justo J. de Urquiza inhabited the place for one year before moving to his hometown province.
After then, the residence had another uses such as military barracks and the first Exposición Rural in 1858. In 1865 was an Army school. After president Domingo Sarmiento established the Colegio Militar de la Nación in 1869, the house was seat of it until 1892, when the "Escuela Naval" occupied the house until 1898.
In 1899, Major of Buenos Aires Adolfo Bullrich ordered the house was demolished with the purpose of "erasing anything that was related to Rosas". - sources: La Prensa, Barriada.com.arMedia in category "Casa de Juan Manuel de Rosas, Palermo"
