English: Buteshire was a four-masted steel ship built in 1888 by Birrell, Stenhouse & Co., Dumbarton (Yard No 45) for T. Law & Co., Glasgow. Dimensions were: length × beam × depth: 266.4 × 40 × 23.6 ft (81.1 × 12.1 × 7.1 m) and tonnage 1906 GRT and 1854 NRT. Rigged with nothing over double top- and topgallant sails. 1893 reduced to barque rig. 1911 abandoned on voyage from Pisagua to Hamburg at 48°47'N and 7°19'W leaking badly.[1][2]
