English: These busts depicts the mythical Eleusinian chthonic hero Eubouleus, brother of Triptolemos. Eubouleus is associated with the mystery cult at Eleusis. According to tradition, he was a swineherd. When Persephone was abducted by Plouton, he was grazing his herd near the point where the earth opened to receive the god's chariot and a few of his pigs fell into the chasm. This episode of the myths is related to the practice of throwing pigs into subterranean chasms during the festival of the Skirophoria.
