The marble bust of Thomas Pridgin Teale F.R.S. (1801–1867) was carved in 1867 by Thomas Earle. Teale was president of Leeds Philosophical Society 1861–1863.
Note: The identification and details of this bust have been taken from the bust's museum label, which is taken to be reliable, because the bust matches Teale's photographic portrait. However, the bust is misidentified, and confused with the bust of John Deakin Heaton, in: Brears, Peter (1989), Of Curiosities & Rare Things; the story of Leeds City Museums.
