Burrwood was a community in lower Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana. Burrwood was one of the last communities down the Mississippi river, on the Southwest pass of the birdfoot delta. It was the site of a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers base, plus additional miltary bases during World War II. It is now no longer an inhabited place, being mostly or totaly submerged by coastal erosion.
