English: Indonesian blends of ground spices, herbs, and plants, such as caraway, ginger, turmeric, galangal, nutmeg, pepper, onion, and garlic, but also seeds, fruits, roots, tubers, flower buds, leaves, and bark may be added. By adding (vegetable) oil, a bumbu paste is created. Bumbu is used to enhance the flavor of dishes.
