  • Significance: Building 1E (an annex to Building 1) is a semi-permanent, regularly shaped, four-story, wood siding on wood frame building with bituminous built-up roofing on wood. The architectural design is strictly utilitarian. In 1964 the Secretary of the Interior declared the U.S. Naval Base, Pearl Harbor a National Historic Landmark. Following the establishment of the National Register of Historic Places in 1966, the Pearl Harbor Historic Landmark was included within this listing of America's historic sites. Building 1E is designated as a Historic Category 3 Building in the Historic Preservation Plan. Category 3 buildings are of minor importance to the historic character of Pearl Harbor.
