Category:Bugatti "Brescia" Series
This category is for the Bugatti « Brescia » series, an informal but inofficial designation for the small 16 valves 4 cylinders voiturettes derived from the initial Bugatti Type 13 8 valves of 1910. Included are:
-
First style radiator; used 1910 - c. Dec., 1912
-
Second style radiator; used c. Dec. 1912-1914, 1919 - c. 1921
-
Third style radiator; used c. 1922 - 1926
- Bugatti Type 13 1919-1926
- Bugatti Type 22 1919-1926
- Bugatti Type 23 1919-1926
- Bugatti Type 27 1922-1926
As these cars all looked very similar, and an exact designation often is lacking, a category containing all Type 13 and its derivatives seems useful.
Bugatti introduced model names ("Types") formally in the 1912 brochures. Before, the Type 13 was designated the "two-seater".
Bugatti used suffixes "Brescia" and "Brescia Modifiée" as a designation for the fastest cars of the above mentioned types. These racing tuned 16 valve engines often came with twin spark, dual magneto ignition, and special roller bearings for the crank shaft for higher revs.
