Note that in the English-speaking realm (or at least in North America) ‘bone bed’ refers to every kind of sedimentary vertebrate fossil accumulations whereas in the German-speaking realm (or possibly in Europe in general) the term ‘Bone Bed’ (or ‘Bonebed’) is rather restricted to highly reworked, mostly marginal marine vertebrate accumulations, i.e. in fact coarse-grained clastic sedimentary rocks in which teeth, fish scales and small worn bone fragments dominate (‘bone breccias’).
