English: Blue silver tabby coat in cats; instead of having fully-coloured hairs, silver cats only have the tips of its hairs coloured, while the roots are white. Blue silver is only applied to tabby blue coloured cats, for solid blue cats the proper terminology for this effect is blue smoke.
Nederlands: Blauw-zilvere cyper (tabby) vacht in katten; in plaats van kleur over de gehele lengte van de vacht, hebben zilveren katten alleen kleur op de punten van het haar. Bij de haarwortel is de haar wit. De term blauw-zilver wordt alleen toegepast bij blauw gekleurde katten met een cyper (tabby) aftekening, bij effen (solid) blauw gekleurde katten wordt blauw smoke gebruikt.
