The notice in the museum at the statue in 2023 indicates it was an original, from the 7th-6th century BCE.

An undated catalogue describes this as 1st-3rd AD from Amathus (Greece) and describes how this former Egyptian god was very popular in the Cypriot pantheon ands was often confused with Herakles. He holds a headless lioness by its hind legs. The big hole probably held a colossal penis. And “It has been politely claimed that it might have served as a fountain.”
