Built in 1915, this Prairie School-style residence at 110 West Gilman Street in Madison, Wisconsin, was designed by Claude and Starck for Bernhard F. Mautz, Sr. (see the Property Record online).

The house features a red brick base with a stucco-clad upper portion, gabled roof with decorative simple trim accentuating the geometric shapes of the building on the gables, pointed attic windows, nine-over-one, six-over-one, and casement windows, wooden brackets, an iron balcony on the second floor, a one-story uncovered front porch surrounded by brick walls with concrete caps, and brick and stucco pilasters.

The Mautz Residence is a contributing structure in the Mansion Hill Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.
