English: The Bennett Building, 139 Fulton Street at Nassau Street in the Financial District of Manhattan, New York City, was built in 1872-83 and was designed by Arthur D. Gilman in the Second Empire style for James Gordon Bennett Jr., the publisher of the New York Herald, for rental as stores and offices. An addition built in 1890-2, and another in 1894, were designed by James M. Farnsworth. It is thought to be the tallest cast-iron building ever built, and was designated a NYC landmark in 1995.
