John Smith (1797–1866) was a partner in Beckett's Bank, Leeds, and took a major part in running it during the first half of the 19th century. Smith worked in a previous Beckett's Bank building in Leeds; the existing Beckett's Bank building by George Gilbert Scott in Leeds was built after Smith died.
