English: The Bass Rapid (Mile 107.7), just downstream from Hotauta Canyon (and immediately upstream, the output of Bass Canyon & Creek).
- Muav Canyon & Shinumo Canyon separate Powell Plateau from the southwest side of the Kaibab Plateau, and Powell Plateau causes a large coursing of the Colorado River, around it. Fossil Bay on the Colorado River is due-west of Powell, and downstream of Bass Rapid (about 15 miles).
- The North Bass Trail (historic Bass Trail), courses down from Swamp Point, through Muav Canyon, then Shinumo Canyon. At the Colorado River, the trail crosses over to the rapids section, north side of the Colorado.
