English: The Bann Bridge, Portadown The Bann Bridge, across the River Bann, was built in 1838 and widened in 1922. It replaced two previous bridges built in 1708 and 1768. Before the opening of the M1 around Portadown in 1967 it carried almost all of the through traffic. The bridge was widened again in 2004/06 by building a new bridge alongside.
