English: According to Marshall 1966 (Air photo interpretation of Great Lakes ice features, p 22), “Ball Ice consists of roughly spherical masses of slush and frazil ice which accrete in turbulent water.” It is a rare natural phenomenon that can occur in lakes or at the shore under certain weather conditions.
