The section from St James's Street eastwards to Roedean Road (inclusive) was numbered B2118 until about 2005, when this number was used for the downgraded section of the former A23 through Albourne and Sayers Common (Mid Sussex). At that time the B2066 designation was extended eastwards from Castle Square.
