Files in this category need general cleanup – usually improvement of filename, description, and/or categories. They may have uploaded en masse from flickr or other sites, and may not have been fully examined before uploading. Before removing a file from this category, please do the following:
  • Make sure the file is in scope, with educational or historical value. Make sure it was created by the uploader/flickr account holder, and is not a derivative work of a separately copyrighted work. If the file does not belong on Commons, nominate it for deletion.
  • If the file has a generic or nondescriptive filename imported from flickr, move the file to a descriptive filename or request a rename.
  • Add a useful description to the file.
  • Add useful and specific categories to the file
  • Correct any other information, such as dates of scanned slides.
