The Peruvian 'Atahualpa' class of monitors consisted of the two Canonicus class monitors Catawba and Oneota, bought from the United States in 1868, arriving in Peru in 1870 and renamed Atahualpa and Manco Capac. Both were scuttled in 1880 to prevent capture by Chile.
