The Astor House was a hotel and restaurant built by John Jacob Astor in 1836 at the corner of Broadway and Vesey Street. The address was 225 Broadway. The southern part was razed 1913 and redeveloped as the Astor House Building, an office building in 1915-16. The northern half of the building was demolished in 1926 and replaced by the Transportation Building.
