English: Argo was a full-rigged sailing vessel, built as Argonaut 1876 by Barclay Curle & Company Glasgow (Yard No 263) for A. & J.H. Charmichael & Co's "Golden Fleece Line", Greenock. 1898 sold to Portuguese owners and renamed Elvira and 1913 Argo. She sunk 1917 by scuttling charges from a submarine.
Dimensions: length × beam × depth = 254.4 × 38.6 × 23.2 ft (77.5 × 11.7 × 7 m) and tonnage: 1563 GRT, 1488 NRT and 1431 tons under deck.[1][2]
