Ambalang Ausalin, a 78-year-old National Living Treasure (Presidential Proclamation NO. 427, December 15, 2023), is a master embroiderer from Lamitan, Basilan, the maker of the finest Yakan tribe tradition tenun, sinaluan and sputangan fabrics made of coconut strips or abacá using tapestry loom weaving with natural dyes inspired by Islamic culture heritage.
