Italiano: Altare dedicato a Marte, Venere e Silvano; fu rinvenuto ad Ostia Antica, in un sacello interno al portico delle Corporazioni. Oggi è esposto al Museo di Palazzo Massimo alle Terme a Roma, al piano terra, nella stanza 5. Numero di catalogo: 42. Si tratta di un'ara romana di epoca traianea (98-117 d.C.), riutilizzata in epoca adrianea (117-132 d.C.) come base per una statua del dio Silvano. L'iscrizione sul plinto registra la dedica dell'altare nell'anno 124 d.C. a Silvano e altri dèi da parte di Publius Aelius Syneros, liberto di Publius Aelius Trophimus, procuratore della Provincia di Creta.
English: Ancient Roman ara from Ostia Antica (so-called "Altar of Mars and Venus"), now in Palazzo Massimo alle Terme, Rome. The inscription on the plinth (C.I.L. XIV, 5) records the dedication of the altar in 124 A.D. to Silvanus and other deities by one P. Aelius Syneros, the freedman of P. Aelius Trophimus, Procurator of the Province of Crete. Roman artwork of the end of the reign of Trajan (98-117 CE), later re-used under the Hadrianic era (117-132 CE) as a base for a statue of Silvan.
